Lake Bluff Iron Pour
In 2003 I was a Visiting Artist at the Chicago Art Institute's annual Lake Bluff Iron Pour. This is a special event hosted by sculpture professor Carolyn Ottemers and held in May of each year at the Historic Crab Tree Farm just north of Chicago. It is SAIC's largest pour and is attended by dozens of students, alumni, faculty and invited guests. I attended the 20th Anniverssary of this pour in 2010 and over the course of 2 two days 8,000 lbs of iron was poured with more than 100 people in attendance.
